Abstract

War, a Persian word, means battle, conflict, struggle, and turmoil. It is a bitter and inevitable reality that has been a part of human history since time immemorial. In the early stages of history, wars were often sparked by minor reasons, but in today's world, they occur under the guise of national security concerns. War is not merely a clash of weapons; behind it lies a conflict of minds, economic interests, cultural struggles, and ideological differences. The short story collection “Sub Sach” by Musharaf Mubashir presents the devastation of war and the yearning for peace. In stories like "Dhamaka", "Dhol Sepahiya", and "Tisadam", the effects of war are shown not just on soldiers but on the lives and relationships of ordinary people. The author portrays the harsh reality of war through human perspectives, where a mother loses her son, a wife loses her husband, and a sister is separated from her brother. These stories vividly depict the brutality of war and its lasting impact on the hearts and minds of the readers.
