The rapid proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, particularly those deployed for surveillance purposes, present profound challenges for the fundamental human right to privacy. This research paper provides a comprehensive examination of the intersection between AI-driven surveillance and privacy rights exploring the evolving global legal frameworks with a focus on Pakistan’s legislation. By critically analyzing international and regional laws alongside emerging AL applications, this study highlights the dilemmas faced by policymakers, legal practitioners and society at large. It underscores the urgent need for robust legal mechanisms and ethical considerations to safeguard privacy without undermining technological innovation and public security.
