Abstract
As a core branch of social sciences, political science is crucial for understanding public policy, governance, and societal evolution. However, compared to technological and medical professions, political science is often perceived as less prestigious and less market-oriented in Pakistan. This review critically examined how political science is viewed in Pakistan, the obstacles that learners and instructors encounter, and the emerging opportunities that are developing in this discipline. Existing literature from credible academic and news outlets is examined using a qualitative narrative review methodology. Results show that the field's downfall is triggered through societal bias, inadequate funding, outdated teaching techniques, and a lack of political education. The article concluded with suggestions for enhancing the political science curriculum through awareness campaigns, promoting research, and modifying the curriculum.
