A Research Study on the Necessity, Significance, and Characteristics of Society in the Light of Islamic Teachings
Abstract
The study of the necessity, significance, and characteristics of society in the light of Islamic teachings is a highly important and fundamental subject, as Islam not only emphasizes the reform of individual life but also stresses the establishment and stability of a collective social system. From an Islamic perspective, society is a natural and social necessity for human beings, where individuals live together based on the principles of cooperation, justice, brotherhood, equality, and goodwill. The Qur’an and Sunnah have outlined the features of an ideal Islamic society founded on faith, piety, justice, benevolence, and collective responsibility. In Islam, social life is regarded as an act of worship, and every individual is taught to subordinate personal interests to the welfare of the community. An Islamic society is one where justice and equity prevail, where no distinction exists between rich and poor, ruler and subject, and where every individual enjoys dignity, protection, and fundamental rights. Education, moral training, ethics, and adherence to law are the pillars that strengthen the structure of Islamic society. The purpose of this study is to highlight how Islamic teachings lay the foundation for an organized, peaceful, and just society, and how adherence to these principles can bring balance, stability, and moral as well as spiritual progress to today’s troubled world. It is therefore necessary to highlight the need, importance, and features of society in the light of Islamic teachings; this dissertation has been written in response to that very need.
