Abstract

This research explores the philosophical and mystical dimensions of Manzoor Ahmad Adam’s poetry, highlighting his deep engagement with metaphysical thought, human identity, and divine connection. Adam’s poetic vision reflects a synthesis of Sufi mysticism and existential reflection, portraying man as both a creation and a witness of God’s eternal truth. His verses emphasize moral accountability, the remembrance of deeds in the realm of Barzakh, and the conflict between free will and predestination, echoing classical theological debates of Jabriyyah and Qadariyyah. Through profound imagery and emotional resonance, Adam reveals that true beauty and perfection emerge from devotion, love, and spiritual labor. Comparative analysis shows parallels between Adam and poets like Iqbal, Faiz, Ghalib, and Dard—each blending human emotion with metaphysical inquiry. Like Faiz, Adam transforms separation into spiritual unity; like Ghalib, he reflects on creative consciousness and poetic mastery. His relationship with his disciple “Tabeer” signifies the continuity of intellectual and spiritual legacy within poetic tradition. Adam’s expression bridges the finite and infinite, transforming personal experience into universal truth.

Ultimately, this study concludes that Manzoor Ahmad Adam’s poetry is a living testament to the unity of faith, love, and human struggle, where artistic creation becomes an act of worship and recognition of divine reality. His work situates him among the great philosophical voices of Urdu literature who sought transcendence through poetic introspection.
